Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how 4Notepad, a product of 4Utilities, handles information when you use this site. The short version: 4Notepad is built to work entirely in your browser, so we never see, collect, or store the content of your notes.

1. We don't collect your notes

Everything you type into 4Notepad is processed locally, in your own browser, using your device's localStorage. Your notes are never transmitted to, or stored on, any server we operate. We have no database of user content, and no way to read what you write.

2. No accounts, no personal data

4Notepad does not require sign-up or login. We do not ask for your name, email address, or any other personal information to use the notepad. If you choose to email us (for support or feedback), we'll only have the information you voluntarily send us, and we'll use it solely to respond to you.

3. The Share link feature

When you use the "Share" button, the text of your note is compressed and encoded directly into the link itself — it is not uploaded to a server. This means anyone who has that link can read the note it contains.

Because the note's content lives inside the URL, treat share links the same way you'd treat the note itself: links you paste into chat apps, browser history, or third-party services may retain a copy outside our control. Avoid sharing this type of link for sensitive or confidential information.

4. Cookies and Google AdSense

We don't set cookies to track you across other sites, and we don't run our own analytics. This site does, however, display ads through Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, device identifiers, or similar technologies to serve ads and measure their performance, which may include personalizing ads based on your browsing activity.

5. Local storage, not tracking

The only browser storage 4Notepad sets itself is used to keep your notes, theme (light/dark), and editor preferences (like font size) on your device between visits. This data stays on your device, is never sent to us, and is fully under your control — you can clear it at any time by deleting a note, clearing your browser's site data, or using your browser's privacy settings.

6. Third-party links

Pages on this site may link to external resources. We're not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and we encourage you to review their own policies before sharing information with them.

7. Children's privacy

4Notepad is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since the notepad doesn't collect personal data from anyone, this mostly speaks to the ads shown via AdSense, which follow Google's own policies on child-directed content.

8. Your rights (GDPR, CCPA, LGPD)

Because 4Notepad doesn't collect or process personal data through its core notepad functionality, most data-subject-rights provisions (access, deletion, portability) under regulations such as the GDPR (EU), CCPA (California), and LGPD (Brazil) don't have personal data to apply to on our end. Any rights related to advertising data are exercised directly with Google, via the links in Section 4.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in the site or in applicable law. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.
